Starting on Friday, May 18, there will be an  immediate update to the process of printing from Liberalist. When you print a Report, Canvass Sheets, Letters or Labels from Liberalist,  the product will be a PDF document, rather than a web page  which has to be printed from your internet browser.

How will this affect you?

• Your PDFs are created nearly  instantly and can be downloaded from Liberalist at your  leisure.
• You no longer have to set your browser’s  Page and Print Settings before printing as you are no longer printing  from your internet browser.
• You still have access to previously  available Print Settings (such as printing maps and customizing your  sort order), as well as several new Print functions which were  not previously available for PDF printing (such as displaying Notes and setting  Print Defaults).
• The update provides a more consistent and  attractive layout for your printouts. This is especially important for  printing barcodes.
• You can still set customized margins for  every Form Letter you add to Liberalist.
• The “My PDF Files” page allows you to keep  useful printouts for later reference. For information on customizing  your view of the My PDF Files page, see our guide section Customizing  the My PDF Files.

While the first English Liberalist Champions Training Program (March 13  to May 9) is wrapping up, we are far from finished! Due to popular demand, an additional run of the program is being offered in French from May 16 to July 12 and again in English from June 26 to August 15.

New Version: MiniVan iPhone/iPad app

Thanks in part to your feedback, the popular iPhone App MiniVan has been upgraded to include many exciting new features.

• You can now add new contacts into the database directly from your device.
• The app will suggest addresses from your list based on your actual location.
• The app is now bigger and more interactive for use on iPads.
• IPad users can now select Landscape or Portrait screen orientation.
• You can now load lists onto your device using the list numbers on printed lists.
• Canvas coordinators can now set expiry dates for lists they send to the app.

The MiniVan App allows you to send a virtual version of your canvas sheet to any volunteer with an apple device (iPad, iPhone, iPod). The volunteers enter canvas results on their device and return the data to you with the click of a button.

Become a Liberalist Champion

Your Liberal Party Help Desk is pleased to launch the Liberalist Champions Training Program. This 8 week online adult learning program is carefully designed to comprehensively train you and your team on the Liberalist system.

Each riding should have at least one person participate in the program. There is no limit to the number of participants from each riding.

The course includes 8 live one-hour sessions on a variety of tools, topics and strategies and 3 short quizzes to help you track your progress. Successful participants will be certified as “Liberalist Champions”. The Liberalist Champions Training Program will take place from March 13th to May 2nd.

Turf Cutter Update

The Turf Cutter tool is now available on the Liberalist Shared Contacts tab. The Turf Cutter function allows you to create highly customized walk or call sheets. Level 3 users now have access to the tool for lists of 2,500 people or smaller. You now have access to the activist code ‘Communication: Riding Holiday Card’. This code can be used to create a holiday card list for people within and outside your riding. For information on how to apply the code, see our documentation on the Quick Mark tool.

This update has not affected your voters’ Election Sequence IDs. The Liberal Party of Canada’s Help Desk is therefore able to extend access to Liberalist’s Bingo Sheet data entry tools, giving your teams more time to enter any remaining voting data. Update: As part of our ongoing commitment to providing our grassroots with the latest campaign tools available you can now use Liberalist’s Predictive Dialer. Managing large groups of volunteer callers through the Predictive Dialer makes calling much more efficient. This system dials numbers on your list and connects volunteers only with available call recipients, with a per hour per caller cost.
