Phone canvassing is an important outreach tool. Liberalist offers many tools to help your team phone efficiently.
How does Liberalist help my team make phone calls?
Liberalist will help you create a targeted phone list of the individual you wish to reach out to. Your first step to phone canvassing will be to create a phone list. Click here to learn how to create a phone list for your riding.
The Virtual Phone Bank (VPB) is a phoning outreach tool that combines your list of people to call with a script and allows your volunteers to enter data as they call. There is no need for a printed sheet because the information is displayed on each volunteer’s screen and there is no need for hours of data entry at the end of the day because data is updated automatically as calls are made.
Who can use it?
Any Liberalist user can access a Virtual Phone Bank that has been assigned to them through Liberalist or by entering a VPB Code that has been provided to them.
Volunteers can make calls from anywhere as long as they have access to a computer, an Internet connection and a phone. However, the Virtual Phone Bank can only be set up by Level 3 user.
For detailed information on the Virtual Phone Bank, see our guides:

You can easily load a list of people to call in Liberalist and convert into a printable canvassing report. Your report will have the information needed to collect and enter data from the people you are calling.
Who can use it?
Only Level 3 users can create and print a list, but anyone with a printed sheet can make calls. All you need is a phone.

What else should I know?
The CRTC has strict guidelines when it comes to phoning. It is especially important that you apply the Do Not Call flag to anyone that has explicitly asked your team and/or the Liberal Party of Canada to never call them again.
Your callers need to display a caller ID number and you must be able to provide a local or toll-free number for your campaign upon request.
Also, calls can only be made from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) unless provincial legislation specifies more restrictive hours.
